My Relaxing Friday

I’m currently typing this while in the food court of the Elizabeth Shopping Centre using their free WiFi.

It’s 3:17pm and I’ve just finished a meal of Lamb Roganjosh with rice and I am letting it settle while my Apple watch is recharging.

Recharging my Apple watch

Aren’t powerbanks wonderful?
I have to remember to use my small solar panels to recharge a spare powerbank when I get home.

I’m still a little peckish, but I am sure the craving will go away soon.

I’m here because the lavalier microphone I have developed a fault and would only record intermittently. This is far from ideal. I record outside a lot for the natural lighting and the wind reduction gave me a lot of confidence.

My goal was to check if the prices had increased in the last 6 months or whether they had stayed the same.

It turns out that the price was the same: AU$80

Amazon have the same model for AU$10 cheaper and with free shipping.

I decided to check in another store and found another, cheaper version of the lavalier mic for just under AU$30 and decided to buy it.

The cheaper lavalier microphone

This was a saving of AU$30-$40, so it pays to shop around. It doesn’t have the wind protection cover but I can use the one I already have.

I’ve read that there is a quality difference between the different brands, but I am not particularly fussed as long as it does the job.

Speaking of jobs, I managed to get a few weeks work as a catering assistant at a private school. So far the woman who hired me is impressed with my efforts.

While I am here I can pick up some cheap hamburger patties from the butcher, restock up on veggies and pay my rent at the post office.

There was a really, really long wait at the Post Office.
They keep advertising for staff, I keep applying and I keep getting rejected.

There’s clearly a demand for someone competent and fast. The customer before me complained that he’d been waiting 40 minutes because he’d been told he would beed to come back on Monday.

That’s unacceptable!

I’d been there 10 minutes myself and I was just there to pay my rent.

Then again, I get the impression that I am dodging a bullet in not working there.

Anyway, on the whole today was a day of winning;
I found stuff I needed, paid bills that needed to be paid and organised what I needed to.

Now, it’s time to embrace the weekend fully.

Thank you for reading.

Until next time, always insist on being treated with dignity and respect.

That's a good day!✨

You had an awesome shopping day!

Thank you very much.

That photo with that food almost in your mouth is like teasing your reader, 😆😆🤧. The food looks so tasty, with that thick sauce of that dish. And yep power bank is indeed wonderful, too bad I don't own that, but I wish I have it. Anf congrats to your new part time job 💪

I love to make people laugh. Powerbanks can be cheap but the cheaper ones don’t hold much power. The bigger ones last all day.

I also have small solar panels that can recharge a powerbank or a mobile phone during the day.

Omg, I want that, what do you call that thing? I should look for that in online shopping app. We always experience power outage in our Province do this is really helpful 🤔🤔

This version is by Powertech.
It’s a 10W Solar Mobile Charger.

Obviously the higher the wattage the more power can be stored.

Oh, that's really cool, and the higher the wattage, the higher it's price. But if fan stored more then that's worth it. But how long can you charge your phone in that 10w? How long does it take for a full charge?

I haven’t had a roganjosh in a while. My go to is an Indian Hot Vindaloo but I also love an Indian Hot Madras.

My favourite curry though is an Indian Hot Kerala.

I haven’t tried Kerala. I have had Vindaloo and Madras and loved them.

Kerala is a South Indian curry. Instead of being a soup like Vindaloo and Madras it’s more of a paste. I prefer it more but the South Indian place I used to go to shut down. Apparently there’s another one but I haven’t been yet.

Interesting. I’ll have to look for it locally.

Namaste 🙏 Sir, nice to hear that you got work for some time and it's mouth-watering lamb dish you are having 🤗🤩

I should have gone for the beef vindaloo as it’s a bit hotter, but thank you.

white rice is quite fattening stuff

It can be. It depends on how much you exercise. One meal by itself won’t do much harm.
