My Relaxing Friday

I’m currently typing this while in the food court of the Elizabeth Shopping Centre using their free WiFi.
It’s 3:17pm and I’ve just finished a meal of Lamb Roganjosh with rice and I am letting it settle while my Apple watch is recharging.

Aren’t powerbanks wonderful?
I have to remember to use my small solar panels to recharge a spare powerbank when I get home.
I’m still a little peckish, but I am sure the craving will go away soon.
I’m here because the lavalier microphone I have developed a fault and would only record intermittently. This is far from ideal. I record outside a lot for the natural lighting and the wind reduction gave me a lot of confidence.
My goal was to check if the prices had increased in the last 6 months or whether they had stayed the same.
It turns out that the price was the same: AU$80
Amazon have the same model for AU$10 cheaper and with free shipping.
I decided to check in another store and found another, cheaper version of the lavalier mic for just under AU$30 and decided to buy it.

This was a saving of AU$30-$40, so it pays to shop around. It doesn’t have the wind protection cover but I can use the one I already have.
I’ve read that there is a quality difference between the different brands, but I am not particularly fussed as long as it does the job.
Speaking of jobs, I managed to get a few weeks work as a catering assistant at a private school. So far the woman who hired me is impressed with my efforts.
While I am here I can pick up some cheap hamburger patties from the butcher, restock up on veggies and pay my rent at the post office.
There was a really, really long wait at the Post Office.
They keep advertising for staff, I keep applying and I keep getting rejected.
There’s clearly a demand for someone competent and fast. The customer before me complained that he’d been waiting 40 minutes because he’d been told he would beed to come back on Monday.
That’s unacceptable!
I’d been there 10 minutes myself and I was just there to pay my rent.
Then again, I get the impression that I am dodging a bullet in not working there.
Anyway, on the whole today was a day of winning;
I found stuff I needed, paid bills that needed to be paid and organised what I needed to.
Now, it’s time to embrace the weekend fully.
